Fed: Consumer confidence down: poll
A new poll says that despite the lead up to the big Christmas buying spree, Australia'sconsumer confidence is at its lowest for the year.
The December Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence Rating is the lowest for 2002 at 109.6,down 4.4 points since November.
The survey of 1,083 people conducted Australia-wide last weekend found 33 per centthought their personal financial situation is worse than the same time last year.
Slightly more -- 39 per cent -- expect their personal financial situation to be betterthis time next year.
Pollster GARY MORGAN says there is a high expectation of bad times ahead for the Australianeconomy in general.
